Belarus gold, forex reserves hit nearly $14.2bn in July 2026
Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves increased by $36.9 million in July to stand at $14.193 billion as of 1 August 2026, the National Bank’s press service told BelTA.
National Bank raises permissible debt burden ratio for loans on Belarusian goods
The National Bank of Belarus has raised the permissible debt burden ratio for certain types of financing from 40% to 50%. The corresponding decision was adopted by Resolution No. 185 of the National Bank Board of 3 August 2026, which came into force after official publication from the press service of the National Bank.

In an interview with the First News TV channel, First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Belarus Aleksandr Yegorov named the factors that led to Belarus’ gold and forex reserves reaching record levels, BelTA has learned.

According to preliminary data, Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves were estimated at $11.158 billion in equivalent on 1 June, BelTA reports citing the information published on the website of the National Bank.
Foreign currency sales exceed purchases by $178.5m in Belarus in May 2025
In May 2025, individuals in Belarus sold $178.5 million worth of foreign currency more than they purchased, BelTA learned from the statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
