Youth from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan to attend professional skills festival in Polotsk

Polotsk will host the 4th international professional skills festival Forest Games: New Standards on 28-30 April, Polotsk State Forestry College, a branch of Belarusian State Technological University told BelTA.


The event, organized with the support of Belarusian State Technological University, will bring together around 100 talented and dedicated young people. School forestry students, college students, and university students from Belarus, Russia, and, for the first time, Kazakhstan will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, exchange experience, and compete for the prestigious title of best in their disciplines. A total of 22 teams will take part, including a team from the Belarusian Forestry Ministry.

According to Irina Gorbatenko, methodologist at Polotsk State Forestry College, this year the festival will go beyond traditional forestry specialties. The program includes the following areas: forestry and wood processing, beauty industry, household services, service and design, and automotive technology.

Competitions will be held at several venues, with the main one being Polotsk State Forestry College. Participants will showcase expert chainsaw handling and woodcarving skills, complete the Forest Trail quest, and demonstrate professional automotive skills from diagnostics to full repairs. In the Hairdressing Art competition, they will create a look for a runway presentation.

The festival will also include an internship program for teaching staff. In addition, guests and participants can expect a rich leisure program.
