Mohseni‑Bandpei said on Wednesday in Qom during the National Pilgrimage Committee meeting that two million foreign tourists entered Iran between March and August 2026, noting that pilgrimage remained one of the main reasons foreign visitors traveled to the country.

He added that Iran received 7.39 million foreign tourists in 2024, more than half of whom visited the country for pilgrimage.
