«We are one big family». Expert outlines path to reconciliation of three Slavic peoples

To reconcile Ukrainians with Belarusians and Russians, it is enough to stop the propaganda that fuels Russophobia in Ukraine, Aleksandr Tishchenko, an expert in the field of national security, BelTA reports.

The expert believes that once the propaganda in Ukraine, which incites hatred toward neighbors, ceases, Ukrainians will be able to reconcile with Belarusians and Russians.

«People who are being fed by Western anti-Russian rhetoric will start thinking for themselves. Ukrainians will no longer be brainwashed, and everything will fall back into place,» Aleksandr Tishchenko emphasized

He recalled the words of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, spoken at the Kupala Night festival in the agrotown of Alexandria. Greeting the guests, the head of state noted that among them were Ukrainians, although not many. «To be honest, we would like there to be more of them. And I am convinced, I am sure, that if we do not forget about this festival, soon there will be a huge number of our Ukrainians here, who would visit this festival with great pleasure,» the president said at the time.

Aleksandr Tishchenko believes that in this way the Belarusian leader once again emphasized that Minsk wishes only peace for Ukrainians.

«Whatever events are happening there now, historically we are still one family. We would like to see Ukrainians at our festivals not just as guests, but as brothers and sisters. And the head of state once again showed friendliness, peacefulness, and a humane attitude toward those who live next to us,» the expert concluded.
