«The Belarusian Institute of Strategic Research was set up precisely to participate in matters of ensuring national security and to develop progressive ideas that help neutralize risks, challenges, and threats in national security. The institute recently celebrated its seventh anniversary. Over this time, BISR has earned the status of a leading think tank not only within the country,» Aleksandr Volfovich noted.
The state secretary of the Security Council emphasized that BISR participates in all vital decisions in the life of the country and in the development of all strategic planning documents. «Not only strategic planning documents. The BISR took an active part in developing and discussing the provisions of the updated Constitution,» he added. «The BISR participates in the development of crucial legal acts and doctrinal documents that define the contours of Belarus’s policy in various avenues of national security. The institute’s research and proposals are reflected in the new National Security Concept, the country’s Social and Economic Development Program for 2026-2030, and other strategic planning documents. The analytical materials prepared by the BISR are relevant, timely, and in demand, including within the State Secretariat of the Security Council.»
«Any team is shaped by its people. The institute employs several doctors of sciences and a large number of candidates of sciences. And that’s how it should be. Because this institute must have the smartest, most progressive specialists, people of integrity. Because the country’s security largely depends on them and their ideas. They must respond to challenges and develop practice-oriented proposals that can be used in all avenues of national security. They have great potential to work even better,» Aleksandr Volfovich is confident.
Today, the institute’s experts successfully participate in prominent international forums and engage with think tanks from friendly states within the framework of the SCO, CIS, CSTO, and other organizations. The BISR’s hallmark projects include «The Image of the Future», «Pulse of Society’ and «Young Analysts».
As Aleksandr Volfovich noted, BISR analysts also do a great deal in terms of preserving historical memory. Special attention is paid to the events of the Great Patriotic War, the contribution of the Belarusian people to the defeat of Nazi Germany, and protecting the population from negative information influence. At the end of the meeting, the state secretary of the Security Council commended the institute’s top-performing staff members for their outstanding achievements in providing information and analytical support to national security efforts.
