Sabalenka loses WTA No. 1 spot to Rybakina

Following the conclusion of the US Open, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka has conceded first place in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings to Elena Rybakina, BelTA has learned.



Having won in New York, the representative of Kazakhstan leads Sabalenka by 2,026 ranking points. Another Belarusian tennis player, Aliaksandra Sasnovich, occupies 130th place, while Iryna Shymanovich sits in 197th position in the world rankings.

The WTA Top 10 rankings:

1. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) — 9,901 points.

2. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) — 7,875.

3. Jessica Pegula (USA) — 7,265.

4. Coco Gauff (USA) — 7,244.

5. Mirra Andreeva (Russia) — 5,743.

6. Linda Noskova (Czech Republic) — 5,328.

7. Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) — 4,809.

8. Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) — 4,683.

9. Iga Swiatek (Poland) — 4,619.

10. Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine) — 3,980.

At the top of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings is Italian Jannik Sinner, in second place is US Open champion Alexander Zverev of Germany, and in third is Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz. The highest-ranked Belarusian tennis player, Daniil Ostapenkov, holds 542nd place.
