Lukashenko stressed the importance of objective audits in agriculture, highlighting issues like unprepared machinery and improper grain storage.

It is necessary to approach audits of agricultural enterprises in an objective, honest, and fair manner. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the relevant statement during a conference call held on 18 July to discuss matters concerning the harvesting campaign, BelTA has learned. The president heard out a report from Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov.

«Malfunctions vary. I’ve already given you an example. Some gear may fail to be delivered on time... Is the harvester ready? It is not ready but it is a minor matter. During audits you have to see the volume, the scale of shortcomings,» the president told the chairman of the State Control Committee.

According to the head of state, it is necessary to approach audits as carefully as possible. Everything should be honest, objective, and fair. Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed Vasily Gerasimov to tell personnel of the State Control Committee to follow these principles in the course of audits.

In his report Vasily Gerasimov drew attention to a number of problems and shortcomings in agribusiness. Among other things the report mentioned the unpreparedness of vehicles, machines, and equipment, the improper storage of grain, problems with fodder harvesting, and the lack of machine operators in individual agricultural enterprises.
