On July 28th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko received the credentials from ambassadors representing nine different countries: Brazil, the Republic of Korea, Libya, Mongolia, Myanmar, Peru, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan, sb.by reports

The Head of State congratulated the ambassadors on the official start of their diplomatic mission in Belarus, stating, «I am confident that this period will be marked by significant events and concrete achievements.»

Aleksandr Lukashenko highlighted that many diplomats represent countries from the Global Majority, whose influence in international affairs is rapidly and justifiably increasing, «Countries in this group share similar perspectives on global order, partnership building, and conflict resolution. They are characterised by respect for national sovereignty and a rejection of pressure, dictation, and illegal sanctions. Belarus rightfully considers itself part of this Global Majority. Our history, along with the heroic yet tragic experience of resisting numerous attempts at colonisation and the destruction of Belarusians, has made independence and the right to ‘be called people,’ as the Belarusian classic put it, extremely important to us. I am confident that the shared views of the Global Majority countries will provide a solid foundation for your successful mission here.»

The President described the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts as a vivid symbol of Belarusian hospitality. Over its 35-year history, participants have come from 85 countries, including Uzbekistan, Brazil, Mongolia, Myanmar, and South Korea.

«Despite what is happening at our borders, just as in all previous years, the festival stage has featured Belarusian, Russian, and Ukrainian languages, along with songs from other countries and fraternal peoples,» Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. «This is an example of how art overcomes barriers and unites people.»

Addressing the foreign ambassadors, the Head of State added, «I am confident that next year you will also gladly attend the next Slavianski Bazaar.»
