Dmitri Kvartalnov’s team will face HC Sochi for the second time in 72 hours. The game on 25 February ended in a crushing 7-2 victory for the Minsk Bisons. The Minsk side also confidently won the previous head-to-head matches this season, with scores of 5-2 and 8-2. With eight games left in the regular season, HC Dinamo Minsk sits second in the Western Conference, while HC Sochi is at the bottom of the conference rankings.
«It’s always tough playing the same team twice in a row, especially after a big win like that. On Wednesday, we were up 4-0 already in the first period. You can’t expect that kind of result two games running. The opponent will be ready tonight, so we just need to stick to our game. I don’t think this match will be anything like the last one,» HC Dinamo Minsk defenseman Rob Hamilton said.
The Minsk club began its road trip with a shootout loss to HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 4-5, before bouncing back with a win over HC Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod 4-3. The final game of the current season between HC Dinamo and HC Sochi will kick off at 7.30 p.m.
