Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta chaired the session of the commission for foreign policy support of historical policy of the Republican Council on Historical Policy under the Belarus President Administration. Results of the commission’s work in 2025 in various areas were summarized, including the preservation of historic truth on the international stage and the prevention of revision of results of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The publication of new topical books and collections of documents, including those looking into the genocide of the Belarusian nation during the war, was also reviewed.
Apart from that, the working plan for 2026 was discussed. The plan envisages various events to be held in Belarus and abroad and dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, and to landmark events and commemorative dates in Belarus’ history.
