The strategic working meeting focused on advancing bilateral cooperation in subsoil use. The Belarusian delegation was represented by Deputy Minister and Director General of the Scientific and Production Center for Geology Vladimir Melnikov, while the Russian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dmitry Tetenkin, and Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use (Rosnedra) Dmitry Danilin.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the 2025–2027 roadmap within the CIS Intergovernmental Council. They noted a strong synergy of competencies, pointing out that Russia’s advanced experience in deep drilling and the development of challenging regions is seamlessly complemented by Belarus’ global leadership in potash mining, hydrogeology, and land reclamation.

The talks also covered the harmonization of mineral reserve estimation methods and the unification of regulatory frameworks. Particular attention was paid to the creation of joint digital subsurface models, which will help establish a unified information space.

The Ministry’s press service noted that cooperation in geological industry is reaching a new level, ensuring resource security and the technological development of both countries.
