Expectant mothers who register for prenatal care with a healthcare facility before the 12th week of pregnancy will qualify for an additional one-time payment of Br530.37. Consequently, the total payout will amount to Br5,834.07.
«If an expectant mother is employed, she is entitled to maternity benefits. The average payout exceeds Br7,600, though it is calculated on an individual basis,» the ministry emphasized.
Upon the birth of a second or subsequent child, the lump-sum allowance will amount to Br7,425.18. Women who register for prenatal care before their 12th week of pregnancy will also receive Br530.37. In this case, the total payout, excluding maternity benefits for employed mothers, will equal Br7,955.55.
Upon the birth of a third or subsequent child, a family capital grant of Br35,505 is awarded in addition to the total initial payout of Br7,955.55.
