According to First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vitaly Kulak, the physical volume index of industrial production for organizations affiliated with the ministry reached 105% compared to 2024, including a 105.2% increase in food production.

«An analysis of the sector’s performance shows that compared to 2024, we have ensured an increase in the gross output of major agricultural crops in farms of all categories. Growth in grain production amounted to 110%, flax fiber — 129%, sugar beet — 119%, and grass fodder — 103%,» Vitaly Kulak said.

Nationwide, the target for exports of food products and agricultural raw materials was achieved at 118.4%, against a target of 106.5%. In volume terms, supplies of key items increased, including unsweetened milk and cream, buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, cheese and cottage cheese, sausages and meat products.

Milk production at agricultural organizations saw a significant increase. A record volume of milk for the country was obtained in 2025, totaling 9 million tonnes. Animal productivity also rose, with the average annual milk yield per cow reaching 6,577 kg.

Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko attended the ministry’s board meeting. According to him, despite the milestones achieved and obvious success, problematic issues cannot be ignored and shortcomings cannot be overlooked. A particular requirement today is the preservation of cattle. «Leaders at every level must be aware of their personal responsibility; there can be no complacency. We are working for a result that is reached through absolute discipline and organization of processes at all levels,» Yuri Shuleiko emphasized.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Yuri Gorkov noted that the key task of the board meeting was not only to sum up the results of 2025, but also to analyze made mistakes in order to continue into 2026 with a clear program of action, strictly corresponding to the requirements of the head of state and the government.

«The principle of our work is simple: you say it, you do it. Any delays will be your personal responsibility, and you will fix the consequences at your own expense. Discipline must be absolute: not only at production facilities, but also in our mindset. Mutual respect, professionalism, and flawless follow-through are the only acceptable way we work,» the minister stated.
