Gastronomy tourism is emerging as a key driver of economic empowerment, creating opportunities for communities to grow businesses, generate income and preserve Zimbabwe’s diverse culinary heritage.

For most foreigners — and indeed for many Belarusians themselves — gastronomic tourism in our country is first and foremost associated with draniki and other potato-based specialities. Those more in the know might also mention machanka, or recall sausages and festive loaves from Motol. Yet the traditional national cuisine of Belarus is, undoubtedly, far richer and more intriguing. In fact, certain recipes and everyday dishes could legitimately lay claim to being regional brands.
