Since 1 January 2025, Belarus has hosted 133,138 travelers from 38 countries included in the visa-waiver program. Most travelers came from Belarus’ neighboring countries: Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

Yekaterina Goncharenok, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry, told BelTA’s Nation Speaks project where foreign tourists come from and what they want to see in Belarus.

Belarus participated in the CIS Tourism Council meeting in Sochi, discussing cooperation, investment, and joint tourism programs with partner countries. Key topics included certification, marketing, and developing tourism for markets like China and Central Asia.

Belarus has seen over 67,500 visa-free visitors from 38 European countries since January 2025, primarily from neighboring Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland. The visa-waiver program is extended until end of 2025.

About 1.1 million foreigners have visited Belarus over the three years since the launch of the visa-waiver program, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee of Belarus.
