Belarus plans to develop rental housing, allowing residents in small towns to buy homes after 10 years. The government aims to build 5 million square meters of rental housing, investing Br13 billion.

President Lukashenko called for prioritizing rental housing regulation, with clear rules and buying options, focusing on small towns and rural areas. He proposed a unified legal framework and support for young specialists.

Belarus built over 11,000 apartments (1,147,000 sq meters) in January-April 2025. 31% was for those needing better housing, with government subsidies. 45.2% of all new housing was in rural communities.

The Council of Ministers of Belarus has voted to approve the Belarusian state housing policy concept until 2030. The corresponding document has been published on the national legal internet portal.
